About Me
Do you have memories of a particular bowl your Mom used in the kitchen? I do. It was freaking heavy and everything that Mom mixed up in it was yummo! My sisters and I often fought over who was going to lick it. Come on five girls, one bowl! Let the fights begin.
My fascination with cooking began at an early age. I remember ruining dinner one night because I thought I could season up the meat on the grill with some lovely herbs I found in our backyard also known as grass. I was so proud of myself until my mom opened the lid on the grill and found grass on the meat. Yep, I got in trouble and Mom salvaged dinner. Mom’s are good that way.
As a kid I would sift through magazines and clip all the recipes out and save them. Before I knew it I had a whole drawer full of recipes.
Needless to say this is something I never did outgrow….
I love experimenting with food. I have not out grown that either except I would like to think I have gotten better at it. At least now when I season meat on the grill it is fresh herbs and not fresh cut grass from the lawn.
My best friend says, “You know that master chef Kristi can start with flour and hickory nuts and a bottle of beer and some fruit loops and make an amazing dinner…how she does it I DO NOT KNOW!! haha….I love her!!”
My girlfriend is crazy and I love her too but I think she exaggerates!
Fruit loops and beer?!? Really?
So who am I?
I am Kristi. Yes, it is spelled with a K not a C. Do you know you can spell Kristi a bazillion different ways?
I am a Mom to three phenomenal sons and I just gained a daughter in law whom I adore!
I married my high school sweetheart. We have been together twenty three plus years and still going strong.
I am the fourth sister out of FIVE!
I cook with red wine and sometimes I put it in my food!
My dog Gus is training me to be his human pet.
Chocolate is my weakness. Seriously, if I don’t have it I break out into hives. It’s not pretty.
I talk with a southern accent, that’s because I’m from the south. Duh!
Oh, yes…..I love food and all the gadgets that help me prepare it. I named my mixer Big Bertha, she is amazing!!!
I am sooo glad you stopped by…now go bake something. How about a Mississippi Mud Cake? I encourage you to lick the bowl….you know you want to!
If you want to know more about me, well don’t be shy! Just ask… kristi (at) momsmixingbowl (dot) com.
